The cheers of the crowd and roaring of the monsters echoed in the girls ears as she walked down the hallway, her mind set on one thing as she passed a couple trainers with their monsters. Shadows have been seen of late and so everyone was training for the attack they would send, only the best would be picked to go on that mission. As she walked the soft hoof beats of the large horse behind her seemed to be the only sound the girl heard. Snorting softly the horse stopped for a moment, it's head held high as the burning embers in it's eyes lit up, it's mane a waving texture of shadow and flames living as one. Snorting the horse continued to follow, it's hooves leaving burned marks on the ground. "Soul stop.." the girl said, halting the horse before she took off her cape.
A red haired fair girl stood at a booth, looking at the man behind it with cold green eyes. "Reina Hartwell...Number 509.." she said as she was given a number. Looking back she smiled, touching her horse before giving it's cheek a kiss. "My good boy...Are you ready for battle?" she asked, seeing his shadowy/flamed mane light up a bit as his back hoof stomped. Soul was her egg monsters and had been so for 3 years. He was a shadow mare, but rare for him before he was a stallion while the shadow mares were usually mares. Giving his cheek another kiss Reina mounted the horse and sat back, letting him head toward the arena were a couple fights had already broken out.
At 21 years Reina was one of the higher ranked trainers, but she continued to push herself and her monster hard for battle. When not with friends Reina would train, her body pushing to it's limit sometimes. Sitting back she ran a hand through her long red hair, her outfit her usually black jeans with red shirt combo like she usually had on during fights. The phoenix tattoo on her shoulder was almost hidden in the dark, yet it was a reminder of what fire can do. "Let's see who shall win..." Reina said, rubbing her horse's neck gently as she watched the battle.

As Andrew walked through the large group of men and monsters alike, his frown grew more and more prominent. He disliked being in large groups, but he didn't really have a choice in the matter. "I know I know, but it's not like we can do anything about it." he whispered to a small white mouse on his shoulder, the eyes strangely intelligent. The mouse's name was Kurenai, and Andrew had hatched the small mouse from a very rare egg he had won in a bet. The mouse was extremely intelligent, and although it could communicate using its powers, it only spoke to him.
The 21 year old male walked up next to a girl and her shadowmare and managed to overhear her question of who would win. He looked up at the screen and looked over the details of the current fight. "Hmm, that guy will win." he said, nodding at the screen at the right. Too bad for him the bets were already closed for this fight. Andrew had spent enough times betting at the arena to know who would win almost at a single glance, and he was almost always right. "Who'd you bet on?" he asked, glancing over at Reina despite Kurenai's warnings not to.

To him, it really wasn't an odd, nor an unexpected scene. He'd been here time and time before, and would be here time and time again. Fighting was his passion, and something that he was good at. Sure, not the most clever, and no, not the most brutal or strongest, but one thing that did come to the emerald eyed man was speed. And with speed, you didn't need to be the strongest. Yes, you needed at least a bit of brains, but mostly it was instinct and common sense that this man went off of. And as for the small monster wrapped around the man's shoulders as he walked, it too loved to fight. Of course, he also believed that his master was somewhat of an imbicile, so their fighting styles didn't always agree. Nor did they always win, especially since they tended to get into a heated argument right in the middle of battle, allowing their opponent to find plenty of openings. As much of a weakness as this was, though, every once in a while they could turn it into strength, and turn that anger towards each other, into a wrath that their opponent would never forget.
Small brown eyes looked up at the man as he walked up to the counter to register his own name, a gruff, "Wrietmaun. Zev. Ja, is contestant," came from the man green eyes narrowing slightly at the man behind the counter before he got his ticket. His anger soon disappearing in the thrill of a soon fight, he stuffed it into his pocket, before pushing his way through the crowd to take a seat to wait before it was his turn. "Ideeots, all of zem," he grumbled as he plopped himself down in a seat, arms over his chest as he, once more, came to complain about some of the people here. "Novun knows anyssink around 'ere, eh? Nossink at all." "Yes, but..." the small, black-footed ferret muttered right back, slinking his way to stand on the man's left shoulder, looking around curiously at the rest of the people, wondering just who it was that they were going to battle eventually. If they weren't cancelled again... "They /are/ fun to beat on, every once in a while," the ferret continued, turning his head, small smirk on it's face, it's back's flame flaring more into a sort of mane than just random flames on all of it, along with the ferret's tail.
Yes, the man had been gifted an Inferno Ferret, some time ago. Won, ironically, in something very... non-violent. Poker. Fun game. The man sometimes played to try and challenge his mind every now and again. Of course, it wasn't often that he won in any other terms than guessing, but he'd gotten lucky. And when it hatched, it turned out to be a grumpy little fireferret. He was both happy, and disappointed. Happy because it was something small and fuzzy, but disappointed because it was grumpier than he was, which wasn't always fun. But they'd eventually gotten along, and were now, basically, best buds. If you could see past their often arguing and incredible stubbornness towards each other. As seen now;
The male rolled his green eyes at the ferret, shaking his head, almost knocking the poor creature off with his hat; the hat that he'd always worn, as it was a gift from long ago. The small thing, angry, pushed back, tilting the man's head the other way, making it look like he was cocking his head curiously, though the man kept it that way, sighing as he just gave up and watched the match, feeling friend crawl down his sweatshirt to rest of the knee of his jeans.

"I did not bet..." Reina stated flatly as she glanced down at the white haired male. "I never bet...It's a toss of money and most are fixed anyway...If I want money I use my smarts to get it..." she glanced back at the guy and glancing to his mouse smiled "Cute...Is that your monster or a piece of your hair?" Reina snickered a bit before sliding off her shadow stallion and patting his side. "I find beating on another's monster to be something cave men would have done....Why beat really? But of course the call of money is always a strong one.." glancing around Reina's eyes lay on the male who had an Inferno Ferret wrapped around his neck, the name of the male coming to Reina before she smiled and walked up behind him. "Zev...Right?" Reina asked, placing her hand on the top of the males skull and turning so he would look at her. "If I remember right...You are the one who burned down half of the males dorms..." Reina smirked as she let go, brushing some of her red hair away from her face "And this is your monster?" she asked, pointing to the ferret with a smile. "Cute thing...Don't you agree Soul?" Reina patted her Shadow Mare's cheek, the horse giving a snort as he stomped his foot and looked at the male. Leaning back Reina turned to the white haired male again before crossing her arms over her chest. "My name is Reina...I'm ranked 4th in the matches.." she pointed to the board which had her face on it. "Two more ranks and I can go on the stated mission for my group...Your not New Lin are you?" Reina glanced at the male, her eyes moving up and down his body before she shrugged and smiled "No...Your not New Truth or your head would be cut off by now...You must be from New Haven....Why are you here?" she let her eyes lock on the male in front of her, Zev already forgotten in her mind.

"Who says betting doesn't use your head?" Andrew asked, smirking as he saw the man he said would win...won. "You had best be happy Kurenai likes you, or you'd probably be on the other side of the room by now. And not by my doing." he said, still not looking away from the screen as his little mouse climbed up on top of his head. He glanced over at the rankings and saw that she wasn't lieing. "So Reina, says here your monster, a shadow mare, is actually male, and you use the flame power and aggressiveness to overpower your opponents. At least, that's what I draw from the other information." he said, turning to her with a smirk as he fixed his glasses. "No, I'm not New Truth, and am in fact part of New Haven. I'm here looking for work, but thought I'd check out New Lin's arena before I did so." he said, turning to yet another fight. He would have usually been by the betting tables, setting various bets on various fights, but he had already spent all of his money getting here, so it would just have to wait until he had a job finished.

The small ferret had climbed onto the male's other knee, watching the pair beside them talk curiously. Cave men. Bah! This was fighting, fighting for honor, something cave men did NOT have. "Stupid girl..." he muttered, climbing back up onto his partner's shoulders, sprawling himself out comfortably as he hear the girl start to speak to Zev.
Said male heard his name, but before he could really do anything, he felt his head move once more by the older girl, and gave her a look of distaste. "Nein," he spoke as she went on about him. "T'vas not me. Blame Nott for it," he continued, shrugging the shoulder that the furry creature had his head on at the moment. "But ja. Is Zev. Vat vant?" he questioned, watching her as her attention quickly turned back to the other male. Blinking slightly, he gave a rather confused look, wondering why it was that he'd been dropped so quickly before deciding that the girl was crazy, and going back to the fighting, one ear open for the others. What drew his interest, though, was the other male; he wasn't from around here, which was a bit strange. These weren't the best places around to look for a job, really. Especially if you weren't part of New Lin. Things could get... a bit messy if that were the case. Of course, the man /wasn't/ really from New Truth, so... he had some bit of safe passage through here. In most places, anyway.
Turning around now to watch the other two, intrigued by their conversation about where he was and wondering why the male, who seemed like such a nerd, had come to watch a fight.

Rolling her eyes Reina knew no one would think a Shadow Mare could be a male. Sighing she placed a hand to the side of the stallions neck and smiling answered "Soul is a rare thing...Only 1 in a 100 Shadow Mares turn out to be stallions..." she rubbed his cheek softly and gave her monters nose a kiss. "Looking for work?" she asked, a smirk slowly creeping up on her lips. "Well that shouldn't be too hard...Work is always easy to find!" Reina lifted up one hand and placed it on Soul s back, patting his spine before another member of New Lin walked up behind her. "Message..." the man said as he gave Reina a letter. Blinking she looked down at the blank note and cursed, tearing it open as she read. "Shit..." she sighed, tapping her foot on the ground before a cool smile came over her face "Well then...Are you still looking? I have a job...I need a couple people to come with me..." she walked over to Andrew and poked his chest "Good pay...Mind coming with me for an egg drop?" she turned to Zev again and walking over to him leaned on his chair, showing off her front half as she smiled "What about you Zev? Care for some good points?" she grinned and tapped his nose before going back to Soul. "Easy enough...We just cross over the West WasteLand and then drop this off in New Haven port...It's only an egg...Can;t be to hard right?"

"I know it's not hard to find work here. Why do you think I came here?" Andrew asked, finally giving up on the boards before turning to face her. He gave her a quick look over, deciding that he should be just a bit careful with this one. Make her mad and she's likely to kill you. "So you want my help for an egg drop? Sure, as long as you pay me beforehand." he said, his hands going into his pockets. Kurenai seemed to get bored of the view from the top of his head, and went to Andrew's shirt pocket, just his head sticking out of the cloth. "Tell whoever's contracting us that if they want it in the port itself, they need to give us money to get into New Haven itself. The guards have been getting greedier." he said, remembering with a glare where most of his money had gone just after he left. If he did get a good payment for this job, he would accompany them back, and make a killing here at this arena. Most of the betters back at Haven knew of his accuracy, so it was hard to get good odds when everyone else was betting as you did. Andrew still seemed to have never even once noticed Zev, his mind occupied with thoughts of money and winning bets.

Quickly slithering into the area mesh up, Ram was holding directly onto His' neck with his feet planted firmly on the back of him. The giant serpents tail rapidly sliding back and forth along the pavement with his dark shadow casting over some others sitting down on the pavement and seats watching matches take place. Ram looked over to his left to see a bunch of others standing and talking to each other. Two of which looked like Lins' the other- a Haven. He gave His' a hard tap on the back, with his head held down, he dashed over to the others and Ram then jumped off of his back into the presence of the males and female only to have fallen on his butt with glasses crooked on his face.
Once he fixed himself, he'd brush off and stared at the others with a cheeky grin on his face. He had recognized two of the people standing there, of course they were Lins'. He had not personally known them but had heard of them since news does travel fast around places. He looked over at the female, "You must be Reina." He gave her a nod before looking over at another male: "and you must be...Zev right?" He nodded to him as well. The sound of something big had started coming closer behind Ram; His' was coming. The serpent raised upright, a good 30 feet between him and Ram was shown; even though that was only half of his size. It was as if he was carrying his own personal tree around him wherever he had gone. Ram scanned the other male up and down: "Who are you..you look like..a Haven" Ram wasn't one to be kind to others. Being 17, he was still honry and continued to have a huge attitude; thinking he was all that and a bag o' chips.

"Wait. Waitwaitwait; the Shadow MARE is a he?" the ferret piped up, jumping easily from Zev's shoulder to stand on the front rim of his hat, nose twitching thoughtfully. Hanging himself over the male's head to look him in the face, the small creature gave a confused look. "Is that even possible?"
The human shrugged, causing the fire ferret to sit back up again to listen once more, cocking it's head to the side curiously as it listened in on them once more. Muttering a few more things to himself, and his partner, who did no more than roll his eyes everyonce in a while, the small brown eyes never left the girl, even when a man came up with a letter. If anything, a spark came to those eyes, and the ferret's smirk grew once more. "What do you think-" "Qviet. She comes," Zev gruffed at him, receiving a glare from the fur as it jumped down onto his shoulder agan, and then slithered in front of his face as the girl spoke, squeaking up a, "We'll go!" The male glared at Nott for a moment, though after a moment, his attention was on the girl again. He blinked once or twice as she flicked his nose and disappeared, seeming lost and confused for a moment, mind on other things, before shaking his head as he felt Nottuss staring at him. Brown eyes rolled in their master's head before it jumped on the man's shoulder again as he stood up. "Ja. Ve vill go then. Money ist alvays gut, ja?" he said, grinning slightly, eyes on the girl for a moment.
Of course, his gaze was torn when he heard a terrified squeak from Nottuss, and felt him jumping and scrambling to get into his hood; a place he normally only hid where there was something around that was likely to eat him. And upon turning around curiously, Zev suddenly felt... tiny. Especially with a giant serpent coming towards the group. Emerald eyes watched the boy silently as he made a fool of himself falling and being cocky. With arms crossing over his chest, he nodded as he was pointed out. Once again known by someone he didn't know himself. Zev wasn't sure whether to be proud or worried about such things, though being who he was, he chose pride over anything. Even as he shank slightly under the huge snake creature. If only slightly. Eyes turning back to the boy, though, he questioned, a grumbling in his voice; he didn't recognize the boy after all, not that he went around and memorized every face and name within either his own city or others, "Ja. So vat? 'oo are you?"

"Ram....Hello Ram..." Reina smirked, seeing his face before rolling her eyes "I HAVE to know everyone that is part of New Lin...It's annoys me not knowing peoples names..." she rolled her eyes again and glancing at Zev's monster smirked "Why is he a stallion? Well for one thing female Shadow Mare's can't breed without a stallion...Like I said getting a Shadow Stallion is like 100 and 1 percent chance..." Reina glanced back at her creature with a smile, watching as Soul moved up to her and nudged the girls back. "Yes my Soul we will leave soon..." Reina cooed to him, smiling as her horse nodded his head and stomped a hoof to the ground. Turning back to Andrew Reina shrugged before pulling out a card. "This will get you your money...Cheat and don't do your job then you won't get you money got it? I have been double crossed a couple times and let's just say those people won't be seeing the light of day any time soon..." she smirked, licking her lips before glancing to Ram "So your the boy with the snake?" Reina glanced up and smiling turned back to rub Soul's cheek "Nice...Do you want to come as well? The more members the better...You never know when New Truth or shadow creatures are about...Better to have more eyes and ears open..." she tapped her monsters cheek before glancing at the fight "Maybe if we hurry we can get back in time for my fight..." Reina mumbled before looking to Zev and smirking "So you'll come then? Great!" Reina giggled, always liking to freak out the guys.
she could be both hot and sexy, then do a U turn and become a raging hot head. "So you guys want to leave now...We will be burning daylight..." she smirked and winked at each before patting Soul's cheek again thoughtfully, watching each male with a smile on her lips.

Andrew barely caught any of the conversation, his mind lost in the wanderings and a mental conversation with Kurenai. He managed to catch his name, and that snapped him out of his reverie. "Hmm? Oh yes, I'm from Haven. The name is Andrew." he said, not missing a beat when he saw the giant snake. He had seen a few like him back in Haven, so he was just about used to it. "A Hisser huh? Good for the arena. I might bet on you sometime if you enter a fight." he said, nodding his approval and turning to Reina. He accepted the card and looked at it for a few seconds before slipping it into his pocket. "And if I get stiffed on payment you'll have more mercenaries than you can count leaving this place from bad rep." he said, not really wanting to threaten the violent people around him. "Yes...it's best to get there earlier than later. The guards start asking for more and more money to let people in the longer they've been on duty." he said, glad that they recognized him and would let him in for free. "How are we getting there?" he asked, looking to the apparent leader for this operation, Reina.

"Ram?" both males, furry and human, questioned, looking at each other for a moment before shrugging. "Neffer met 'im," Zev went on, shaking his head. He felt the ferret climb out about halfway onto his shoulder, though the bulk of it remained in the hood. And truthfully, he couldn't blame the little creature; in nature snakes were a ferret's enemy. And besides that, it was a water monster. Nottuss liked his flames, and so he hated the water. He wouldn't even take a bath. Nott did get some spark back to himself, though, as he sneered at the threat that the girl gave the nerd. A hand come up to shut his muzzle, before drawing a finger over his head, as if to pet him between the eyes and silence him.
And as she turned upon them again, Nottuss shrank back as she giggled, for once agreeing with Zev; she was crazy. The human, on the other hand, just blinked at her, suddenly questioning his motive to go for a moment. If he had to hang out with the creepy giggling one, and the giant water snake, maybe this wasn't such a good idea... Plus, the more people there were, the less money that /he/ got paid. "'ow much do vee each get paid, anyvay? Und vat is it that /you/ get paid for doink ziss, ja?" he questioned suddenly, arms crossing over his chest, almost suspiciously. He didn't want to be jipped out of something good, especially if he was having to ditch his fight to go on this little... 'adventure'. Turning his head to Andrew as he questioned something after him, though, he rolled green eyes. "Ve valk. Unless you 'aff car? I dun't. Too crowded around 'ere to use car. Besides," he paused, motioning a hand towards the Shadow Mare. "Ist too big for car."

"Must we be here master?" Asked the voice inside the girls head, her monster Tsukuyomi had adressed her, but the girl didn't even tare her ruby eyes from the sight that stood before her now. "Yes Tsuku, be pastient." Came the dark haired girls reply within each of the small black cat's mind and the girls. With a flick of a long black tail the cat looked up to it's master, it's dark fur blending in carefully with it's masters dark dress. "As you wish." Came the reluctant reply of the fallen feline.
"That shadow mare, rather impressive I'd say." Kikyo said more to herself than to her monster. "Yea right, I could take it down." Tsukuyomi said, the monsters bright blue eyes glowing with annoyance at the loud sound that buzzed all around. "Master you hate places like this, and yet you insist on staying?" Asked the small cat as the ruby eyes of the girl fell upon the small frame of the shadow cat. "We need to see who we have allied ourselves with." Came the answer of the girl, soft and montone with in each of their minds.

Ram looked over at Zev "Well, now we've met..". He looked back up his Hisser and gave him a smirk. Reina seemed to have known him, it was her job to know everyone-well...it seemed like it was her job. Ram quickly jumped back up on His' and took a sit down on his back:"So, you have a Shadow Mare. That's pretty amazing, male right?" He nodded too himself, "Males are rare, you're one of the luckiest people around if I may say. Not only that but his coat is pretty well looking." Ram patted His' back while he was watching the others. "You all look like you're about to do something; all your monsters look pretty...upwritten and ready to move. Is something big about to happen?" Ram's feet were tapping against the ground as he took out a cigarette, lit it and started to smoke it- the ashes falling on the ground causing little sparks to light. Ram had been so busy talking to the others he never noticed the other girl that came over "Allo" ram said her and gave her a nod and a slight smile. His' noticed the shadow cat that had come over near her. He seemed very interested, a little too interested. His' was thinking of food and kept glancing on and on about it
